Come for an enjoyable Saturday with friends for lunch and a creative workshop. Stop en route to Turku for a guided history tour and museum visit. Or make a whole day of it at Wiurila! A full day visit means your group can discover, learn, create and enjoy through different activities, up here in the open countryside.

EXPLORE OUR HISTORY

Explore Wiurila’s history, heritage and unique architecture!

We offer guided group tours that will provide a fascinating insight into the Armfelt’s history at Wiurila. Discover the many generations who lived here and how they lived. Explore Wiurila’s unique buildings, their uses and the famous architects who designed them.

Wiurila’s Home & Horse Carriage museum completes any historical visit, with well-preserved artefacts from the Manor home & horse carriages from different periods over the last 200 years.

CONNECT WITH NATURE

Wiurila is situated amongst natural parklands and nearby Viurilanlahti Bay, a bird migration spot of international importance.

The surrounding nature offers much to see & explore. A guided nature tour will lead your group through walking trails where different animals may greet you. Arrving at Viurlanlahti Bay, you’ll see various species of birds and waterfowl and your guide will explain their species and significance.

It’s a chance to be out in the open air and connect with Wiurila’s local wildlife!

GET HANDS-ON & CREATIVE!

Think you’re not creative? Think again!

Surprise yourself with an Annie Sloan® chalk paints workshop. No experience is necessary, making it perfect for beginners. Your group will discover the magic & ease of these paints, enabling them to transform most objects into new works of art! It’s a fun experience that also builds creative confidence.

Wiurila also offers fine food tastings. Ignite the senses by tasting fine quality food products from around the world,  such as Finca la Torre’s organic, biodynamic certified Gold medal winning olive oils.

ENJOY DELICIOUS FOOD

Fresh, delicious food is an important part of any great day out. Wiurila’s Bistro makes a great place to enjoy a great lunch, with views of the parklands.

Our light & airy Bistro serves meals made in-house, using locally-made ingredients. We can arrange buffet lunches, or chose from our casual dining menu, featuring gourmet pizzas, pastas and our signature burger made with organic, grass-fed Hereford beef from local producer Koskis Manor.

“CAKES & HISTORY” – 2 hour tour

The 2-hour visit starts with a guided tour of Wiurila. Your group will visit Wiurila’s farm buildings and learn about their unique architecture. After, your group will visit Wiurila’s Home & Horse Carriage Museum, housing carefully preserved artefacts used in the Manor home over 200 years, and a unique collection of horse carriages. The Museum provides a magical glimpse into Finnish Manor life in times gone by. The tour concludes in Wiurila’s majestic Grand Ballroom, where portraits of the Armfelt’s ancestors adorn the walls & a special Manor’s cake service is served with coffee and teas. The fresh cakes and sweets are hand-made by Wiurila’s own Pastry Chef, a specialty at Wiurila that is sure to delight!

Tour guests can finish the tour with a visit to the Wiurila Shop, which stocks gourmet & local foods, homewares, gifts, and Wiurila souvenirs and history books.

“TASTE OF THE MANOR” – 4 hour tour

The 4-hour visit starts with a 1.5-hour guided tour of Wiurila. Your group will visit Wiurila’s farm buildings and learn about their unique architecture. After, your group will visit Wiurila’s Home & Horse Carriage Museum, which provides a magical glimpse into Finnish Manor life in times gone by. The tour ends in Wiurila’s majestic Grand Ballroom, where portraits of the Armfelt’s ancestors adorn the walls. Your group then breaks for lunch, where a Buffet lunch is served. Wiurila’s kitchen uses seasonal and local produce, all cooked fresh in-house.  Lunch includes coffee, teas, cold beverages and sweet treats.

After lunch, the group can enjoy an activity of your choice (one activity per tour group) –

Guided Nature Walk  – a gentle walk in the surrounding nature, where your guide will explain the history of the parklands, and local flora & fauna.

Annie Sloan® Chalk Paint session – a introduction to transforming objects with Annie Sloan® chalk paints, perfect for beginners.

Rose Garden Visit (July – September) – a few steps from the main building is Wiurila’s Rose Garden. All the rose species here are unique, and your guide will explain their history & special significance.

“DISCOVER WIURILA MANOR” – 6 hour tour

10.00 – 12.00: Welcome & Guided History Tour

The tour begins in Wiurila’s Grand Ballroom where welcome morning tea & coffee is served. Your guide will provide an introduction into Wiurila Manor’s history and ancestry of the Armfelt family.  After, your group will visit Wiurila’s Home & Horse Carriage Museum, providing a fascinating insight into Finnish Manor life in times gone by. The tour finishes with a short walk around the farm buildings, learning about their unique architecture.

12.00 – 13.30: Buffet lunch

The tour then breaks for lunch, where a Buffet lunch is served. Wiurila’s kitchen uses seasonal and local produce, all cooked fresh in-house. The lunch includes coffee, teas, cold beverages and sweet treats.

13.30 – 14.30: Wiurila Activity

After lunch, the group can enjoy an activity of your choice (one activity per tour group) –

14.30 – 15.30: Free exploration

Guest now have time to explore Wiurila and its grounds at their leisure. They can wander the parklands on the walking paths, enjoy a drink on the Bistro’s terrace overlooking the golf course, or visit the Wiurila shop for souvenirs & quality gifts.

15.30 – 16.00: Afternoon tea

The day finishes with afternoon tea/coffee before departure.
